Safari Ltd. Tortoise

Unlike other members of the Testudines’ order, tortoises are not sea dwelling and live on land. Known for their large and spacious shells, tortoises can withdraw their heads, tail, and all of their limbs inside their protective carapaces when they feel threatened. Accurately modelled and meticulously hand-painted, this tortoise figurine exhibits the large domed shell and long limbs that are characteristic of many tortoise species. The texture and ridges along this model's limbs are also faithful, depicting the thick plates of dead skin that tortoises develop over their lifetime for extra protection. 4. 75 inches long and 2. 5 inches wide, this pokey pal is about the size of a soda can turned on its side. Its striking brown and yellow shell and sandy skin are professionally hand-painted, making it a great addition to any enthusiast's collection. Immortalized in folklore, fairy tales, and the stories of different cultures, tortoises are often characterized as thoughtful and wise creatures. Perhaps the most well-known tale is the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, in which a patient tortoise defeats a smug hare in a race. As impressive as they are iconic, tortoises are an important symbol for many societies and religions around the world. 1 x IC Tortoise Figurine.
