This class of locomotive was named Centennial by the Union Pacific because it was delivered during Union Pacific’s centennial celebration of the driving of the golden spike that completed the transcontinental railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah. DCC equipped for speed, direction and lighting. Dual mode NMRA decoder with 8-pin plug. Twelve wheel drive. Two skew-wound motors with four flywheels. E-Z Mate Mark II couplers.
