Now I wish every smartphone had a built-in privacy display.

It's time for the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series, just a few days ahead of the MWC 2026. And after a year full of leaks and rumors, we see the Galaxy S26+ return for another round, with Samsung seemingly dropping the Galaxy S26 Edge plans. At least for now.

The world's first Privacy Display on a phone is here — and it's the best we've ever tested

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra isn't a major upgrade over the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but it definitely improves upon its predecessor in ways that can be helpful in day-to-day use. The camera is a little better, the performance is a little better, and the display has some cool new tricks.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is not a phone for everyone. At $1,299, it never was. But the question isn’t whether it’s expensive. The question is whether it’s worth it for you . If you’re someone who’s been on a Galaxy S23 Ultra or older, stop reading and go buy this phone.

Yes. As much as I dislike the emphasis on AI, there is no denying that the S26 Ultra is a capable creative tool for advanced photographers. It will all come down to what you are willing to use and what to ignore.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra might be one of the most expensive devices on the market, but it ticks every box you could want. The combination of a new processor on the inside, a capable camera system on the back, and a nifty privacy-oriented display proves to be a winning one.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a classic Samsung “safe” upgrade; not that exciting, but undeniably still polished. It’s thinner, lighter, and the 6.9-inch screen continues to be the star of the show, this time boosted by unique privacy mode tech.
