Samsung's A5 series has been around for almost a decade and has established itself as a reliable mid-range device. This year's model, the Galaxy A56, follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, with improvements made in both hardware and software fronts.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 is a superb midrange workhorse that hosts a balanced array of features including a 120Hz AMOLED display, an upgraded Exynos 1580 chipset, a number of AI capabilities and robust IP67 dust and water resistance.

Samsung’s Galaxy A56 flirts with flagship territory. It sports a sleek design, smooth performance, and all-day battery life. But is that enough?
Aman Gupta| 29 March 2025
41,999 for the base variant, the Galaxy A56 offers a compelling package with its visually appealing yet minimalist design, responsive and feature-packed software, a capable camera system, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

A respectable distillation of the company’s current flagship experience for half the price of a Galaxy S25+. The A56 builds on its predecessors’ strengths and comes with better software support than ever, but still lags behind on performance and features when compared to the wider mid-range market.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 could be a good phone for anyone who loves watching content, thanks to its excellent screen and speakers. With a middling camera and mediocre gaming performance, however, it's anything but a no-brainer at its launch price.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G is a great phone with a surprisingly premium build considering its mid-range price tag, though it’s probably best described as a rather ‘safe’ phone. There's no big reason to get the Galaxy A56 as a result - just a lot of little ones.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 is pretty much the perfect mid-tier phone.

It didn't take long to convince me that the Samsung Galaxy A56 is worth every penny, despite missing out on the full flagship treatment. It’s durable and good-looking, offers a tidy UI, has helpful AI features (although it lacks the full Galaxy AI suite) and produces very good photos.
Srivatsan Sridhar| 27 March 2025
At a starting price of Rs. 41,999, the Galaxy A56 5G is another minor upgrade to the Galaxy A55 with improved performance, charging, and the display, making it the best A series phone till date once again.
