(Almost) every year, Samsung honors us with a Fan Edition of its Galaxy S flagships. The Galaxy S24 FE is no exception. Likewise, we always have something to complain about, even though they are not bad smartphones in any specific manner.

There are also new Galaxy tablets and an LTE Watch FE.

Recommending the Galaxy S24 FE or not is a bit tough at this point. You see, it’s a good phone until you see the price. We’re seeing plenty of great phones at the same price or cheaper that offer better camera and software performance, like the OnePlus 12R .

The Galaxy S24 FE has a long list of small compromises that shave a lot off the price compared to the Galaxy S24+. But it doesn’t sacrifice any of the Galaxy AI features, which might be the most important thing for you.

Samsung notes that “FE” stands for “Fan Edition” which is a curious admission that fans prefer to pay less for its phones. But we feel the S24 FE’s initialism is probably something more cluey about what it offers: it’s flagship and economical, making it a win for budget conscious Android buyers.

If the standard Galaxy S24 is aimed at those with little hands, the Galaxy S24 FE is one for those with thrifty budgets.
