The HP Notebook 15-dy1091WM has a plastic chassis with a smooth finish. The hinge is firm and you can open it with one hand the display, on the other hand, has thin bezels giving it a modern look that being said the display panel does show some screen flex. The base of the device has a metallic finish with the speaker grilles just above the keyboard.
