Description
Dual-Use Cast Iron Body & Heat Retention: The teapot is made from cast iron, which is excellent for heating evenly and retaining heat. It will keep water hotter longer than thin metal or ceramic, which is useful if you’re steeping or slowly drinking tea.
Stainless Steel Infuser for Loose Tea: It comes with a removable stainless steel infuser basket. This allows you to place loose leaf tea inside, steep it (so flavor and aroma can develop), then lift out or remove the leaves easily so the tea doesn’t over-steep. Cleaning becomes simpler, and you avoid loose leaves floating in the pot.
Enameled Interior Coating: It protects the cast iron from rust, makes cleaning easier, and prevents the buildup of iron deposits inside.
Stovetop Safe (with Care): The teapot is designed to be used on stovetops (gas, electric, sometimes induction), though many manufacturers recommend using small/low fire to avoid damaging the enamel inside. It is not intended for dry-heat or empty boiling.
Capacity & Size Suited for a Few People: Most of these teapots have a moderate to large capacity: typically between ~600-1000 mL (20-34 oz), enough for 2-4 cups of tea. Also, there is often some “recommended fill level” (e.g. not fill to the absolute top) to allow for safe boiling and avoid spillover.
