Trails

A visual check of the wiper blade indicates that the rubber has hardened and/or is cracked. Water streaks remain after each sweep.

Vibrations

Extremely hot or cold temperatures, and prolonged periods of inactivity can cause vibrations of the wiper blades that bump against the windshield.

Burls

When one side of the broom has dulled and has a rounded appearance or shape, the wiper blade spreads the water over the windshield.
