It is necessary for the molting of the crayfish and involved in the hardening of the chitinous armour. Lime red algae store iodine into the surface structure, gorgonians into their axis skeleton. Brown algae also enrich the trace element strongly. Experiments showed that PRO-CORAL IOD greatly improves the light adaptation and colouring of flower animals, especially stone corals.
