Hyalo4 Skin Topical Cream is a topical preparation constituted by hyaluronic acid as its principal component. Hyaluronic acid is a biological polysaccharide (glycosaminoglycan) distributed in the extracellular matrix of most tissues. Due to its hydrophilic properties, it provides hydrated space around and between cells, thus facilitating the migration of cells. Hyaluronic acid plays a multifaceted role at each stage of wound healing. It provides hydrated space around and between cells, thus facilitating the migration of cells, promotes re-epithelialization, reduces pain and protects the wound as it forms a protective film. In particular, it is intended to cover acute wounds (donor site and post-operative incisions, first and second degree burns), and chronic wounds (vascular and metabolic ulcers and pressure sores). In contact with the skin it forms a film which provides a natural, protective effect against abrasion, friction and desiccation.
