Here are 4 tried and true steps to get a naturally better shave. Step 1: Prepare and Protect Skin with Pre-Shave Oil Pre-Shave Oil creates a layer to protect the skin and soften whiskers so shaving is easier and causes less irritation, helping to prevent razor burn. Wet shave area with some warm water and apply a few drops of our Pre-shave Oil before shaving. Step 2: Cushion Skin with Shave Cream or Shave Soap Hold a shaving brush perpendicular in a stream of hot water, rotating it slowly to fully saturate the brush hairs. Once the brush is loaded with water, remove it from the water and hold it “bristles downward." Without moving or shaking, allow the brush to drain the excess water the bristles are unable to hold. Apply Shave Soap or Shave Cream (We make both!) to your brush and move in an up-and-down pattern throughout the shave area, working up a lather in the process. The bristles of the brush should reach your skin. Ensure that the lather is even and thick enough to obscure the skin beneath then shave.
