Description
Soap Nut Berries by scash. Soap nuts have been used for centuries to wash clothes, and used to turn into shampoo and other natural household cleaners. How do they work? When the soap nut berry comes into contact with water saponins are released which are a substance that makes foam or bubbles. This bubble molecule holds one side to water and the other to the dirt or fat molecule, then the water pulls the dirt out. It’s simple. Soapnuts are a natural detergent. Completely safe and not chemically produced. Nature knew a thing or two. Where are they from? Our Soap Nut Berries are from the base of the Himilayan mountains. Hand –picked and packaged we support fair trade. How do you use them? Put 4-8 berries in the linen bag provided or that sock you can’t find the match for. Tie up well. Then throw directly into the washing machine with the clothes. They can be used upto four times. You can even throw them in the dryer as a softener. Make liquid soap nut detergent by adding 30 nut shells and 6 cups water. Boil for 30 minutes and drain. Can be combined with Borax for heavily soiled clothing. Use ¼ cup per load. Do they really work? And what will my clothes smell like? They really work and they have a sweet sour smell and can be pungent when fresh. And our berries are fresh! This smell doesn’t transfer to your clothes. Clothes come out clean, soft and sweet smelling with no synthetic fragrance added.
