    Preparation and usage

    Wash Tomatoes under cool running water and pat dry.In preparing Tomatoes, cut the fruit in half horizontally or slice as desired in discs, cubes or in wedges. It’s best to keep the seeds when eating Tomatoes as it also contain valuable nutrients. The skin of Tomatoes are also found to be rich in essential cancer-fighting and eye care nutrients like lycopene and beta-carotene.Avoid aluminum cookware when cooking tomatoes since the high acid content of the tomatoes may interact with the metal in the cookware which can leave an unpleasant taste in the food or affect bodily health.

    Make your homemade natural tomato paste by simply sautéing a couple of cloves of chopped garlic, and 1 or 2 large chopped onions for 2 minutes until they are translucent. Add 8 to 10 chopped whole tomatoes and several teaspoons of fresh chopped oregano, basil, and any other herbs you enjoy like parsley or rosemary. Simmer for 30-45 minutes. Remove from the heat, drizzle with olive oil, and add sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Tomatoes are a great recipe ingredient to bean and vegetable soups, burrata salad, salsa dip, gazpacho, sandwiches and so much more.
