    Storage conditions

    Lebanese Red Tomato Bunch is best for immediate consumption and can be placed at a cool kitchen spot within 55°F to 70°F room temperature, ideally, in a bowl in single layer out of direct sunlight to preserve flavor and moisture. To preserve longer and prevent rotting, keep refrigerated in the produce drawers or on the top shelf near the fridge door. Wash and dry tomatoes first before storing.

    Preparation and usage

    Wash Tomatoes under cool running water and pat dry. Cut the fruit in slices, in discs or in cubes or wedges. It’s best to keep the seeds when eating Tomatoes as it also contain valuable nutrients. The skin of Tomatoes are also rich in essential cancer-fighting and eye care nutrients like lycopene and beta-carotene. Avoid aluminum cookware when cooking Tomatoes since the high acid content may interact with the cookware which can leave an unpleasant taste in the food or affect bodily health.

    Make your homemade natural tomato paste by simply sautéing a couple of cloves of chopped garlic, and 1 or 2 large chopped onions for 2 minutes until they are translucent. Add 8 to 10 chopped whole Tomatoes and several teaspoons of fresh chopped oregano, basil, and any other herbs you enjoy like parsley or rosemary. Simmer for 30-45 minutes. Remove from the heat, drizzle with olive oil, and add sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Tomatoes are a great recipe ingredient to bean and vegetable soups, burrata salad, salsa dip, gazpacho, sandwiches and so much more.
