  • How to use

    Storage conditions

    We recommend you store Tida grand extra long basmati in this durable seal 'n' store bag.
    Reseal the bag after use to ensure the continued quality and freshness. Keep this bag in cool dry place. Alternatively you can store in an airtight container.

    We use state of the art DNA testing to purity check the rice in our Tida Grand. This ensures that the basmati in the bags is indeed the special extra long basmati. Every grain in the bag has to pass Tilda's stringent quality control standards

    cooking Guidelines

    Everyone has their own preferred way of cooking basmati. This is our favourite. Allow 60g of uncooked rice per person (approx. 1/2cup).1 measure dry rice: 2 measures water.
    1. For best results we recommend you soak the rice in cold water for 30 minutes, then rinse in a sieve with cold water.
    2. Take a large pan and add 2 measures of cold water to 1 measure of basmati.
    3. Bring to the boil, reduce to a low heat, cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the water is absorbed. Avoid opening the lid or stirring the rice.
    4.Remove from heat, stand covered for 5 minutes.
    5.Lightly fork through the grains before serving.
    Alternatively: Rinse uncooked rice with cold water. Add to a large pan of boiling water, cook on medium heat for 10-12 mins, drain well and stand for 3 mins. Lightly fork through the grains and serve.
