The highest quality harvest of the region is tested, procured and then sent for aging for a minimum period of one year in the most conducive environment of the company owned storage. The aged paddy is then sent for cleaning, milling and packaging in a state - of - the -art rice milling plant. India Gate is distinguished by the long length, fineness and smooth texture of its grains. The cooked grains won't break or stick together. The aroma is delicate and the taste is simply irresistible.

    Storage conditions

    Always store India Gate Basmati Rice Super in a cool, dry place - away from sunlight.

    Preparation and usage

    Pre-cooking: Rinse the rice thoroughly. Measures: Open pan cooking- 5 cup of water for 1 cup of rice. Closed pan/microwave - 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. (The rice may required slightly more or less water to cook depending on how hard or soft the water is.) Add 1 TBS of butter or oil or margarine; and salt to taste.

    Cooking Methods:
    Open Pan: In a large cooking pot, bring water to rolling boil. Add the drained rice and stir gently. Cook uncovered for 6-7 minutes on medium heat. Drain and rinse with more boiling water. Strain excess water and serve.
    Closed pan: Bring water and rice to boil. Cover pan with a tight lid and let it simmer for 9-10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to stand covered for 5 minutes.
    For best results: Soak the rice for 15 minutes in lukewarm water prior to cooking. Use a large cooking pot with wider based giving rice maximum space to expand. Do not prepare large quantity of rice in small pot.
