By utilizing sophisticated glass materials, aberrations of all kinds are effectively eliminated. With exceptionally high resolution and flatness of field at any aperture including F/1.8, this lens achieves sharp, clear images with outstanding finely detailed image quality.
World’s first* VC (Vibration Compensation) system installed on standard full-frame fixed focal lens with a large aperture ,
Outstanding close focusing distance with MOD (Minimum Object Distance) of 0.29m (11.4-inches), the shortest in its class
eBAND coating that minimizes ghosting and flare without fail --Fast and reliable AF with Tamron’s proprietary USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) actuator
Fluorine coating that provides superior water and oil repellant properties ---External design with a “human touch” making use of many organic curves
SP 45mm F/1.8 Di VC USD (Model F013) is a 10-element, 8-group construction, which includes two molded glass aspherical elements and one LD (Low Dispersion) element.
Use of the two molded glass aspherical elements corrects the field curvature to ensure planarity of the image plane, while efficiently compensating for spherical and comatic aberrations to achieve superb uniformity across the field and imaging performance, with high-fidelity point spread reproducibility.
Outstanding resolution is attained from corner to corner. Especially when photographing a night scene, the sagittal comatic flare, which is a type of aberration where a point-source light image does not form an image as a point and becomes blurry at the corners and on the periphery of the frame, is thoroughly corrected.
Use of the LD element optimally corrects chromatic aberrations, which tend to become particularly prominent in fast-aperture lenses in general, and delivers crystal clear images without any residual color fringe.
