DESCRIPTION

Halaban Charcoal is quite good charcoal, its fire is durable and grilling fish or meat with it produces nice smell and tasty flavor. It will make a difference in food flavor than prepared using gas or other methods. It is excellent for restaurants and indoor/outdoor grilling. Halaban wood is one of the most widely used renewable charcoal raw materials in Indonesia. Halaban tree (Vitex pubescens VAHL) or (Vitex pinnata L) is one type of hardwood forest plants that grows in almost all over Indonesia, including Java, Madura, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Bangka Island. The tree is medium in size, with a maximum height of 25 meters. But generally, only 10 to 15 meters. The stems do not have real buttresses. With a diameter of 35 to 45 centimeters only. Sometimes, it can reach 75 centimeters, bent and branching low panicles, deeply grooved. Halaban tree grows easily and can be planted on various types of soil, has resistance to fire and grows mostly in secondary forests. In 1994 Halaban tree has been cultivated by the Integrated Charcoal Technology Development Center of Indonesia on a land area of 1.4 Hectares. Since 1997 it has been producing which is used as raw material for charcoal. Making charcoal is a rural and traditional activity that is gradually being lost and could be of great value for rural employment. Charcoal has a number of uses: it can be burned directly in traditional stoves, as mix for briquettes, or for the popular barbecues. Halaban charcoal has been exported to several countries such as Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea, among others.
